About Us

The Project:

In the midst of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, organizations of all sizes have stepped up to meet the mental health and educational needs of young people by offering them language instruction - Ukrainian to embrace their heritage, and English to support an integrated future. These programs create safe spaces of hope and encouragement. But stretched resources compounded with the ongoing destruction of schools and libraries have left significant gaps in materials.

On the United States' side of the world, Matchbook Marketing has been supporting US based independent bookstores since 2015, but wanted to support our Ukrainian friends too. So we partnered up with the American 501c3 Hope and Action to form Vinok Libraries, which will provide books and supportive materials to educational programs across Ukraine. Through direct communication with Ukrainian teachers and educational directors, we will fulfill requests for specific genre/skill levels, and individual titles when possible. Everything will be curated to be the right book for the right reader, and provided at no cost to the programs making the requests.

Our vision is to provide Ukrainian youth with the highest quality of books and educational resources to prepare for a hopeful, integrated future.
